The first SpielBar store opened at Werderstraße 22 in Dortmund, in partnership with Demand Spieleverlag Dortmund.

SpielBar exhibited at the SPIEL boardgame fair in Essen for the first time.
1997
The store relocated to Gutenbergstraße 52 in Dortmund.

The retail store closed its doors.

Since 2003: SpielBar has been bringing the joy of board games to people across Germany as a mobile gaming experience.
What began as a small game store in Dortmund in 1993 has evolved into a travelling SpielBar, inspiring people throughout Germany to discover, play, and enjoy board games together. And our story is still being written.
